My breath is taken away by the 5 loves of my life... my husband, daughters and doggies!

Daybook- Watching a Movie...

Watching a movie with two one-year olds is quite an adventure, but one that is warranted every now and then...

I am thinking... how long are they really going to sit on the couch with me and watch this movie??

I am thankful for... the first 20 minutes of the movie when I have a baby sitting on each side of my lap, a dog at my side, and another at my feet... what a great start to our day!

I am reading... Mady gets off the couch to go get a book... now we're going to watch a movie and read a book... Zoo Animals...

I am hoping... Gaby always loves to cuddle up and watch a movie, 30 minutes in and she hasn't moved a muscle...

On my mind... I know I have an imagination... but puppies flying a spaceship, really??

We're learning... the bear that Gaby was cuddling with is wanted by Mady, who has taken hers to the other side of the room... no Mady, that's not yours, Mady needs to learn to let Gaby have her toys too!

Noticing that... Gaby listens even when I don't think she is paying any attention to what is going on, great multi-tasking Gaby! Watching a movie, and pointing to Mady's bear...

Pondering these words... "Mama, lkjlk jwperio wperho bnvoiw yt dog..." Yes Mady, dogs in space...

A few plans for the week... it's a pajama/Movie day today, Friday maybe a date night with my hubby, and weekend craziness!

From the kitchen... egg salad, stuffed peppers, and who knows what else...

Around the house... toys, toys, dog toys, and more toys...

One of my favorite things... watching a movie with my girls!

Mady and Gaby's 15 Month Update

We're making Mommy step away from her Daybook Posts, so we can give everyone a 15 month update on how we are growing and changing everyday! Mommy is letting us do this blog entry... this is a new adventure for us! Just when we were getting e-mail figured out...

So anyways, since I am the technology girl, I get to start... yup you guessed it, it's Gabbers. And, quite the gabbers I am becoming Mommy says. I now have about 10 words/signs in my vocabulary, and love to use them whenever I can. My favorites and most used are Mama, Dada, dog, bear and Grandpa. I also know what a dog, lion, and fish say! And, I can sign more, please, all done, and drink. Mommy and Daddy love that I am starting to communicate more. And Mady, well we are developing our own secret language that only her and I can understand. It's sure to drive Mommy crazy!

Ok, my turn, oh-great-one-of-many-words... hey it's Mady. Don't let Gaby impress you all that much... I can say and sign everything she can... it's just she likes to use them more. I just like to babble on and on in my own language. I know someday everyone will understand. I am still the studious one, I know when something in the room is new or has moved, and whenever Mommy can't find something, she asks me to go find it, and usually I do! I'm very good at finding our bears, cups, and even the Theresa and Sammy's toys! I am also a big helper around the house, I make sure the gates at the top and bottom of the stairs are closed at all times, and that the door to the dog run is closed, so Gaby doesn't go outside by herself and get scared! Of course that means Theresa and Sammy can't go outside to potty... but Mommy keeps an eye on that one!

Ok, Mady I have one more thing to tell everyone... I'm back, it's Gaby. (Trumpet sound... duh duh duh...) I AM WALKING! I started walking when we were on our trip to Iowa in beginning of April, and now, Mommy has to almost run to catch us both. Mady and I can be very fast!! Not only can I walk, but I (fine Mady, we) also love to go up and down the stairs, throw the ball for the doggies, and climb in and out of cabinets and niches. Very fun stuff! Why we both crawled for so long we'll never understand... walking is so much better!

Well, Mommy says this is getting long enough, but one more thing. It's Miss Mady, closing our first blog entry. We also wanted to let you know, we know where our eyes, mouth, head, nose, ears, toes and belly buttons are... it's so much fun having a sister to point out body parts to! And doggies... Sammy loves it when I play with his ears!

Ok, well it is nap time, we have to go, but we will check back in with everyone another time! Enjoy the new pictures!

Daybook- Playing with Bubbles

Outside my window... I see the container of bubbles laying on the patio, we will play with you again another day!

I am thinking... that all containers of bubbles should come with two wands... one wand has proven to cause much drama this week!

I am thankful for... bubbles that are non-toxic... the girls love to try to catch and eat the bubbles. I have to imagine they don't taste very good!

I am reading... well, Gaby tried reading another book in the tub, we'll see how it is drying today. I have to pay more attention to what gets thrown in the tub as it is filling up with water!
I am hoping... that things as simple as bubbles will always put a smile on all of our faces!

On my mind... just waiting for the moment when one of the dogs jumps into the tub with the girls... Sammy has gotten close... someday!

We're learning... all about body parts this week... eyes, ears, mouth, hair, nose, and yes, belly buttons were discovered in the tub the other day!

Noticing that... I love our ordinary days at home, the days we have no plans, and we just take it minute by minute!

Pondering these words... "splish splash I was taking a bath" the girls love to splash and have fun in the tub! Theresa and Sammy were covered in bubbles the other day, as bubbles were flying out of the tub!

A few plans for the week... a slumber party for 4 little girls, Alyssa and Lili are so excited to spend the night with Mady and Gaby!

From the kitchen... getting a night off this week, while the slumber party is going on, Dan and I are going on a date... what a concept!

Around the house... are items from my kitchen that have migrated into other rooms... it's going to take a sink full of bubbles to clean all these dishes before food hits them again!

One of my favorite things... watching the girls discover things about each other, before themselves. They found each other's belly buttons, before their own!

Daybook- Being a Mommy...

Outside my window... I saw a Mommy Gecko and a baby Gecko on the patio.

I am thinking... I was put on this earth to be a Mommy.

I am thankful for... celebrating a wonderful Mother's Day with my two girls, and getting lots of hugs and kisses all day!

I am reading... two new favorite titles this week, Where is Baby's Belly Button and Peekaboo Zoo. They are both interactive books... very exciting stuff!

I am hoping... to have a great week!

On my mind... soo many things to do, so little time!

We're learning... how to roar like a lion and hoot like an owl!

Noticing that... Being a mommy is exhausting... I still like to nap when my girls nap!

Pondering these words... "bear" the girls favorite toy, and very clearly spoken word. When it is said, I am in immediate search and recover mode! Where did I last see bear??

A few plans for the week... calendar is wide open... we'll see how fast it fills up!

From the kitchen... Having a birthday dinner for Theresa and Sammy tonight... complete with Dog cake!

Around the house... I had two helpers helping me clean Saturday, whatever I picked up, they pulled right out behind me!

One of my favorite things... watching the girls give each other high-fives... way too cute!

Daybook- My First Daybook Post

I absolutely love this idea, so I am copying it from my cousin Missy, she got the idea from one of her favorite blogs. Daybook is supposed to be a weekly reflection on life and a way to get going for the week.

Outside my window... it was a beautiful sunny and a little cloudy, Arizona Spring day... it's getting warmer, the air conditioner upstairs has been turned on!

I am thinking... and hoping this blog will be fun for me to do, and fun for others to read!

I am thankful for... of course the easiest answer... my husband, daughters and dogs. Today, I am also very thankful I am feeling better and life is getting back to normal!

I am reading... about fun things to add to a blog!

I am hoping... that all the drama and hard times of 2009 and early 2010 are truly over, and we can have a wonderful summer and fall... it's time to really enjoy 2010.

On my mind... all the things I want to get done tomorrow, since I have a friend coming over to be with the girls for a few hours.

We're learning... what non-bath toys survive a dip in the tub when Mommy isn't looking... so far I have been very impressed with what has survived.

Noticing that... Theresa does love to be wherever the girls are, she is always in the same room as us, and loves when the girls try to play with her.

Pondering these words... ahhh, uhuh, bubu... I really need to learn my daughters' language.

A few plans for the week... having fun with the girls and dogs, a little shopping, invoices, a playdate with a set of twins, and hopefully some scrapbooking.

From the kitchen... one of the girls favorites, meatloaf (with a side of ketchup) and mashed potatoes.

Around the house... only two boxes left to unpack... we're getting settled in!

One of my favorite things... watching the girls play together and give each other hugs and kisses... they are so sweet and love each other so much.

My First Post...

I have decided to start a blog to keep family and friends who live near and afar updated on all the antics of the Murphy household... the girls and dogs, and I suppose me and Dan. We have so many family members that live far away I am hoping this will be one more way for them to stay in touch with our lives in Arizona. I will try to update as I can with comments, thoughts, stories, and pictures! I am still learning, so bare with me!
